Here are some pictures of the first few minutes. Surprise- notice T is in tears. Right now she is listening to him read a book about a missionary to Brazil. He writes neater than our boys do, but he seems to get a bit frustrated- only a little- by not being able to communicate as well as he would like. Teresa is very relieved how much he understands- she thought it was going to be no English at all. He is shorter than we thought but seems to be healthy. The orphanage gave him a good batch of photos from as early as maybe 3-4, so that will be nice for him.
He seems to be very eager to please and very kind. I'm not sure how much he knows about life outside of this general area but he has been able to travel on field trips around here. I think he will be up and running sooner rather than later.
He has had one surgery and they repaired what they could at that time, but there will be more surgeries down the road and he seems to welcome any attempt to make it easier for him to fit in. I think we will have him attempt to send out a post here soon, so watch for that.
He has no idea what he has just gotten into- coming into this crazy family with the extended family that goes with us.
Missing you all and wish we could grab and go, but that's not the way it works so we will try to be patient and relax. Maybe both our ADD symptoms are flaring up.:)

ReplyDeleteAWESOME! I too was getting a little misty. What an amazing thing to be able to adopt a new son and give him a new life beyond all his imagination, I am sure. What a biblical picture of what Christ has done for us. I think that's the real reason I am misty.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to meet him. Has he been given his new name yet? I vote for Jonathan Timothy.
