The Process Begins

Sometimes in life there are things that happen that seem to "just happen" and then there are things that happen and you have to think that there is no way that this could just happen by chance. I think we are in the middle of one of the latter right now.

Our family was on vacation and Teresa and the boys returned home after Kimmy and I. When Teresa came home she checked her email and found one from one of our friends. This friend has a client who had tried to adopt this boy but for some reason the process did not go through. Our friend said that she wanted to take him, but they already have a single mom and her daughter living with them and so it did not seem like this was an open door at this time. She then thought of us.

I read the email and thought, for the first time, maybe this is what God has planned for the Weinbergs. I went to James 1:27 and read some other passages about God's heart for the fatherless/orphans and my heart was moved to move forward.

Our family has watched God open and close doors in our lives and when He wants to make something go through then it does. It is great to have someone to trust in this situation that knows exactly what our family needs and what this young man needs as well. As an earthly father I want what is best for my kids, but I don't really have any idea what is really best for them. I can try to figure it out, but in the end I am only human and I will never know all there is to know. I am excited to see what God will do in this situation.
